In homage to those brave protesters in 1969 at the Stonewall on Christopher Street, many European Gay Pride Celebrations are referred to as Christopher Street Day. No matter what it’s called, Europe offers many opportunities to share in many different cultures while sharing your Pride at the same time. Most every major European destination has adopted the gay pride celebration just as it’s celebrated in the USA. Participating in a European celebration is not only a great way to share your pride, but the perfect opportunity to visit a different culture, experience a large variety of historical sites, enjoy the romance and adventure that many destinations offer at the same time.
Your timing options are also many, as Pride Celebrations in Europe are not restricted to June, they are scattered over many months. Also consider the annual EuroPride Celebration – the bigest celebration in Europe and is staged by a different city every year. EuroPride 2008 is being held in Stockholm, Sweden July 28th through August 3rd.
European Gay Pride Celebrations gives you the opportunity to experience the true nature of the local gay and lesbian residents of these cities while also enjoying the history and the beauty of the destinations. See Europe Pride 2008 for a few samples you might want to consider.
